ICTHospital is open source hospital management software. Patients, appointments, wards, pharmacy, laboratory and billing run in one system, with SMS and voice reminders built in rather than bolted on.
What is ICTHospital?
ICTHospital runs a hospital or a clinic from the front desk to the discharge letter. Instead of a patient record in one place and a messaging gateway in another, the reminders run from the same records the clinical staff use.
It's released under the GNU General Public License v3.0, so you can read the code, change it and run it on your own hardware, keeping patient data where your regulator expects it to be.
What Is Inside
Patient Records
Registration, demographics, blood group and a printable barcode ID. A walk-in with no paperwork can still be registered.
Medical History
Allergies, past operations and chronic conditions, with scans or reports attached to the record.
Appointments
Book by doctor and time slot, capture vitals on the appointment, and text the patient the day before.
Doctors and Departments
A doctor register organised by department, with staff roles for nurses, pharmacists, lab staff and reception.
Wards and Beds
Bed categories, allotment and release, occupancy at a glance, and admission through to discharge.
Prescriptions
Prescribe from the medicine catalogue with dosage and instructions, then print the prescription.
Laboratory
A test catalogue with reference ranges, requests per patient, and results that can be reported in parts.
Pharmacy
Stock by category and expiry, counter sales and purchases, with stock updated in the same step as the sale.
Billing and Payments
A service price list, itemised invoices with discounts, and part payments recorded one by one.
Reports
Outstanding lab work, prescribed against dispensed, aged debtors and bed occupancy with length of stay.
Roles and Permissions
Ninety permissions across Admin, Doctor, Nurse and Accountant, enforced on every clinical screen.
Communications
SMS, email and voice reminders for appointments and outstanding balances, running as scheduled jobs.
Built on Our Own Communications Engine
The messaging in ICTHospital isn't a third party gateway with a plugin in front of it. It runs on ICTCore, our open source communications framework on FreeSWITCH, the same engine behind our fax server and PBX. ICTHospital itself is built on Laravel 12 with PHP 8.3 and MySQL or MariaDB, and a Docker image is available for evaluation.
